The balloon itself
The Orbera Balloon is a weight loss system that uses a gastric balloon that occupy space in the stomach. The balloon is placed in the stomach through the mouth by means of a minimal invasive endoscopic procedure while the patient is under mild sedation / rest. When the balloon is placed in the stomach it is filled with saline, after which it expands and absorbs the desired space in the stomach.
How the Orbera Balloon works
The balloon occupies space in the stomach to help patients lose weight. During the course, the patient is called up every 14 days by one of our diet supervisors to optimize treatment and ensure weight loss. The balloon will be removed after 6 or 12 months depending on the type.
